Mike's Firehouse Grill was constructed in the building that was home to the original Mason, Michigan fire station. The original City of Mason fire house existed on this site, 447 South Jefferson St., from 1906 until 2001. It was then that the fire department moved to their new location at 221 West Ash St. The building sat vacant until the Spring of 2002 when an entrepreneur by the name of Mike Homan approached the city with an idea for a restaurant to fill the void in the heart of historic downtown Mason. Mike's Firehouse Grill was born. The old fire house underwent major renovations however much of the building's picturesque exterior was kept, keeping the charm of the downtown icon. Opening on June 18, 2003, Mike's Firehouse Grill now provides exceptional fine dining to the residents of Mason, Michigan. Many of the historical elements of the original fire house have been kept and are on display or still utilized inside of the restaurant.
