Altered animals do not have the urge to mate and reproduce. - It is not healthier for females to have one litter before being spayed. They should be spayed before their first heat cycle. Spayed animals never miss the experience of breeding or giving birth. - The surgery itself is not expensive. It is a one-time investment which prevent future, more-costly medical bills. - The surgery is not painful for the animal, who is under anesthesia during the operation.
